National exams November 2017

This year, we had a total of 38 candidates, 20 girls and 18 boys. Hopefully they will do well. We wish them all the best.

2017-10-17 Rapport inför skolårets slut och rapport från workshop i Kiswahili

Augustine rapporterar om det intensiva arbetet inför slutet av läsåret, då åttondeklassarna ska göra sina nationella examina från 30 oktober till 2 november. Calvince har varit skolan representant på en workshop i kiswahili.  Här är deras rapporter och bilder: 

How is everyone?
I hope you are all fine. At school we are fine; doing quite well as we approach the end of academic year 2017. We are at top gears to give it a good finish; We are very busy with the pupils for revision,especially the class eights who will be sitting for their national test as from 30th October to 2nd November.We hope all shall be ok and we too wish them well.
Besides, I would just wish to share with you a report of the Kenya national  kiswahili workshop which was held last week on 10th October,2017. Calvince attended it on behalf of the school and he must have learnt alot. He was given 10 story books for our pupils and a few other course books for revision.For more information, kindly alongside is the report.

Re: Kiswahili workshop.

May I first and foremost pass my greetings to you in Sweden hoping that life is ok over there. On behalf of kiswahili department in the school,I wish to give a report on the workshop that I attended on Tuesday 10/10/2017.

It was good to meet many prominent people; Canadians,German kiswahili radio presenters among others .I also managed to get a one-on-one discussion with professor Wall Bin wall, who is the organizer of the annual workshop.

After our discussion,he:

*guided me on how to carryout proper revision before the national Exams.

*Ways on how to remain a good teacher throughout a lesson.

*Awarded the school with 10 story books for the pupils to read.

These were officially presented to the school at a Friday’s assembly.

I want to really appreciate your efforts towards every success of the school activities.Thank you.

2017-09-26 Week 4 report

WEEK 4 REPORT FROM 17TH TO 24TH SEPTEMBER 2017

The week began well on Monday the 17th as was expected. All the Teachers, pupils and the subordinate staff reported on time ready to carry out the weekly activities.

It is in the same day that the teacher-trainees from Matongo also reported for their teaching practice that was scheduled to take two weeks. They were well received and subsequently fitted well in the program. So far up to the end of the first week, I can conclude that they did their work to perfection.

We also had the class eight zonal examinations that took place on Tuesday and Wednesday, 18th and 19th respectively. All the 38 pupils did the exams successfully supervised by an external teacher.

Generally, the week went so smooth as we anticipated since there were no major cases of neither sicknesses nor absenteeism reported from either sectors. Attached are some pictures showing various activities that transpired within the week.

Lastly, I would just thank so much you, the sponsors, for your overwhelming support towards the orphans, the school and the community at large.

Studiebesök i Kisumu – Education trip to Kisumu

RE:EDUCATION TRIP TO KISUMU SHOWGROUND

Hello,

It is important to inform you about the above event.At had all our class eight pupils accompanied by a number of staff members ;both teaching and non-teaching going out for the trip.We left school by 7 am and travelled safely to the destination.

On our arrival, we made payment at the gate and we were allowed in.The team was well organized;teachers were assigned groups of pupils to be incharge of during the tour.They took the pupils to various stands where they were well received,guided and even taught by the attendants at the stands.Almost every sector of the Kenyan economy was represented, but majorly agriculture and business.We walked to almost every stand at the showground.At every point, something new was learnt.If not,it was an additional knowledge to what we already knew.It was a greate lesson outside school and classroom environment.Our pupils learnt a lot and they were able to ask and answer questions.In addition, they also took a lot of good notes from the speakers of the day at various stands.They learnt just so much.

By 1 pm, the groups met for lunch,after which we let the pupils visit other areas where children were swinging and playing;to derive fun and also to learn for themselves.In addition, our pupils also managed to visit a local radio station stand where they were allowed to send messages and greetings to their patrents,friends and relatives.This made us so happy since some people who tuned on their radios then called us and told us of having listened to the pupils at the stations.It was greate outside there.

At 4pm,we left the showground and began our jouney back home.On our way in Kisumu town,we took our pupils to one of the biggest shopping mall in town,so that they could see the shopping activities there and even take part by buying a few items.This was too important as it is part of what they learn in school.From there,we travelled home,a very happy group and most interesting,our pupils learnt a lot of important things during the trip.In addition,we gave them an exercise to write some interesting story about the trip.This will be collected and checked when schools open
